Bob Vermillion, CEO and founder of RMV Technology Group LLC (a NASA industry partner) is speaking this week at the 48th Annual EOS/ESD Association Symposium. The event is taking place at the Embassy Suites Dallas Frisco Hotel and Convention Center. The title of his presentation is “CubeSats Require ESD Qualification and Handling Protocols for Launch and Space Survivability.”
Named the NASA ESD Technical Authority in 2018, Vermillion is an industry-leading subject matter expert for ESD/EMI reliability material evaluation on land, air, sea and space environments. He has offered white paper presentations for academia, NASA QLF, and the Electrostatics Society of America. In addition to being honored with an IOPP College of Fellows induction in 2007 and receiving entry into the DoD Military Packaging Hall of Fame in 2019, Vermillion is founder and co-chair of the G-19A Subcommittee for EEE Suspect Counterfeit Parts Packaging, an SAE Aerospace Standards WIP document, which is soon to be released.
As the foremost industry expert on ESD/EMI materials and packaging for space and defense, one of his early innovations was a MARS mission approved material, followed by development of SmallSat evaluation methods and shakedown testing for the protection of ultra-sensitive components.
In collaboration with Exemplar Global, a third-party certification body and member of the American Society of Quality (ASQ) family of companies, the RMV leadership team provides iNARTE certified training equally important to automotive, medical device, and SMART Energy development for reliability in extreme weather conditions.
