Small businesses are the backbone of almost all national economies. They represent the human threads that weave the social fabric of every community and hold it together. Their actions have a major impact on the environmental health of nations. Yet, they are largely overlooked or at best given a paternalistic pat by almost every standard-setting process and standards development organization.
Standardization in practice focuses on the one percent of the business population—the big organizations. The system is not working for small business, yet standards can provide value to them and their supply chains. How do we rethink the systems of standards so that they are for all, and not just for some?
In this presentation, Lynn Johannson will present insights on:
