Accreditation

Exemplar Global operates under ISO 17024 and broadly applies the principles in practice as defined in the standard.

As we update and continually renew systems and procedures and launch new products and services, we have not found a satisfactory accreditation standard to apply to the broad range of activities we undertake and services we offer to the industry. While Exemplar Global actively supports the accreditation process, we are not currently formally accredited and are not required to be so.

Exemplar Global, formerly RABQSA, has operated for over 30 years with a purpose defined in our Articles as a nonstock corporation, organized and existing under laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA. A 501 (c) 6 not-for-profit organisation, Exemplar Global also enjoys charitable status in Australia. The American Society for Quality (ASQ) is Exemplar Global’s ‘sole member’.

Please be assured that as we continue our efforts to improve our services and develop new products we will continue to work to the same high standards as we always have.

We will consider reinstating accreditation and extending the scope of our accreditation in the future if a suitable standard can be identified to meet our particular requirements.

Apply for Certification

Exemplar Global recognizes training completed with training providers who held/hold certification with us under our current name or previous trading names (RABQSA, QSA, RAB) for 10 years from the date the training was completed for our management system schemes, such as QMS, EMS, OHS, etc. Some of our schemes require that the training certificate to have been issued within the last three years. Please check the specific certification requirements for the scheme you wish to apply for. If your training was completed outside of the training requirement time, you will need to complete a relevant knowledge examination, if available.

If a knowledge examination is not available, you may substitute the knowledge exam with an audit log showing relevant audit experience. If you choose this method, we require that you show evidence of 10 audit days reflecting the specific scheme (e.g, QMS, EMS, OHS, etc.) and grade (i.e., auditor or lead auditor) you wish to apply for. Audits need to have been conducted within the past three years.

There are current agreements with IRCA/CQI, PECB, and the CCAA. Applicants must be able to demonstrate holding a current certification with one of the above mentioned bodies in order to qualify.

Exemplar Global is not a training provider.

Exemplar Global will leverage its global network of training partners to facilitate access to training with our training provider partners. Over time we will be releasing several pathways and learning and development opportunities to Exemplar LINK users.

Any paid training that is accessed through Exemplar LINK will be provided off the Exemplar LINK platform and via the platform used by the training provider partner. Exemplar LINK will recognize this training through digital badging (if applicable).

Micro-training, sometimes referred to as micro-learning or micro-credentialing, is training that is delivered in small bite-sized learning units that illustrate a proficiency in a skill. Micro-training courses are generally developed with a specific industry in mind, to ensure it meets industry-specific needs, is relevant, and is recognized by future employers.

Training is delivered online and often takes the form of video content, however there can be other methods of delivery. Micro-training is generally low-cost and recognizes learner proficiency with a digital badge upon completion.

Pathways will soon be available in Exemplar LINK.

Exemplar LINK brings together all Exemplar Global customers across the auditing, assessment and conformity, and the engineering sectors. Exemplar Global recognizes that you are all on a career pathway that is unique to you. Exemplar LINK aims to support you to plan an individual pathway based on career stage and give you the tools to discover possible career routes supported by a range of learning pathways to give you the skills required.

A digital badge allows you to share your credentials and achievements online in a way that is simple, trusted, and can be easily verified in real time. Digital badges provide employers and peers with verified evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you’re capable of.

Digital badges will be available across four achievement types:

·         Experience: events, volunteering, project participation

·         Learning: self-led learning, soft skills, professionalism, competencies, product knowledge

·         Validation: learning and assessments, portfolio/evidence, peer review, certificate programs

·         Certification: credentials, industry certifications/licences

We have partnered with Credly to translate the learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated into a badge. The technology is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share, and verify your competencies digitally.

Badges will be displayed in Exemplar LINK under ‘My Credentials’. You will also be able to know if an event, activity, or training is assigned a specific badge. Exemplar Global and iNARTE certifications will be recognized automatically with a badge that includes the relevant metadata to verify attainment.

Popular ways to share digital badges include LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook, over email, or embedding the badge on your website or email signature.

Other sharing options include:

·         Downloading the badge visual for a resume or email signature

·         Downloading a printable version of their badge

·         Sending through Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp on a mobile device

No. You can easily configure your privacy settings. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public in Exemplar LINK and in the Credly platform.

While digital badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on the Credly Platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.

We will soon be launching a new way to connect with industry and apply for jobs with industry partners.

In the meantime, the ‘Jobs’ tab will connect you to the current Exemplar Global Careers Centre. Also keep an eye out for a weekly Job Connect newsletter.

Fees, Certificates, ID Cards, Payment

Your annual fee and recertification fee reflect your grade of certification and are the same fee rate. Note that if you are certified under one of our management system schemes (those based on an ISO standard), such as QMS, EMS, OHS, etc., you will not have a recertification fee as certification is now continuous for these schemes. However, even though it is a continuous certification, it will show an annual expiration date.

If you are certified to one of our industry schemes,  your certification expiration date will vary by scheme and by the term of certification you have selected, such as one or four years.

Upon approval of your application: 10-14 days within US region; 7 days within Australia; 10 days within New Zealand.

When entering the expiration date of your credit card, ensure only numerals are entered. For example: Enter 1220 for December 2020 and not 12/20.

Training

Exemplar Global recognizes training completed with training providers who held/hold certification with us under our current name or previous trading names (RABQSA, QSA, RAB) for 10 years from the date the training was completed for our management system schemes, such as QMS, EMS, OHS, etc. Some of our schemes require that the training certificate to have been issued within the last three years. Please check the specific certification requirements for the scheme you wish to apply for. Audits need to have been conducted within the past three years.

Exemplar Global does not provide the training required to become an auditor. That training is done by our network of certified and recognized training providers. You can find a directory of those organizations and the type of training they provide here: https://www.exemplarglobal.org/portal/files/tpsearchregister.php

Exemplar Global does have a number of other options available to our certified professionals to enhance their career. These include webinars (both live and on-demand) and online conferences.

Transition Assessments

Yes! Our ISO 45001 OHS scheme is inclusive of the requirements of ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and AS/NZS 4801. Please note that OHSAS 18001 has been withdrawn. We expect that AS/NZS will be withdrawn soon.

All Exemplar Global certified OHS 4801/18001 auditors who do not also hold an ISO 45001 OHS auditor certification are required to transition to the ISO 45001 OHS auditor scheme prior to March 2021. This is required because the OHS 4801/18001 auditor certification scheme was built on OHSAS 18001, a British standard that has been withdrawn and replaced by ISO 45001.

Organizations that are certified to OHSAS 18001 must transition to ISO 45001 by March 2021 if they want to maintain their OHS certification.

We are no longer accepting applications to the OHS 4801/18001 auditor certification scheme. Instead, please apply to the ISO 45001 OHS auditor scheme.

NOTE: Auditors who conduct audits to AS/NZS 4801 may do so with the Exemplar Global ISO 45001 OHS auditor certification.

If you currently hold an Exemplar Global OHS 4801/18001 certification, all you need to do is to complete the ISO 45001 Transition Assessment through ONE of the following paths by March 2021:
  • Complete the ISO 45001 Transition Assessment through Exemplar Global (via your online portal)
  • Complete an ISO 45001 training course through an Exemplar Global certified training provider
  • Complete ISO 45001 training from an accredited certification body (or registrar) or registered training provider

If in the event you have met either of the above, please forward your training certificate to sgomesz@exemplarglobal.org

Exemplar Global will then transition you to the ISO 45001 certification program and will transfer all your OHS: Dates/ Grade/ Scopes across to the ISO 45001 OHS certification program and your current OHS certification will be closed out.

Once your application has been transferred, you will be notified to retrieve your e-certificate via your online portal and a new ISO 45001 ID card will be posted to you.
