A Message From the President and CEO May 2019

We recently attended a meeting of the IAAR, the Independent Association of Accredited Registrars. As the name suggests, this is a North American organization of certification bodies/registrars working together on common issues of interest. Exemplar Global is also involved with AACB, the Association of Accredited Certification Bodies, a similar group representing several Australasian certification bodies. There are several others around the world all working to improve the industry we all work in. In general terms, there are many common issues and it is through working together and collaboration that we see the greatest impact and gaining a voice where individually we might feel unheard. If your certification body is not involved in one of these bodies, I would certainly encourage them to do so. This is where auditors can he heard. We are also very happy to represent auditor views in these forums, so please let us know your thoughts.

Our annual Online Auditor Expo is taking place in June. This will be the third such event and each year gets better than the last. This year we have a great line-up of speakers including Denise Robitaille, Elisabeth Thaller, Alka Jarvis, Afaq Ahmed, Pat la Londe, David Solomon, Jeff Slotnick, and Jorge Bravo. Our speakers will cover a wide range of topics including quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, auditor skills, and risk management. Look out for promotional information and join us again for another of our virtual events. Remember, you do not have to take time off work, book airfares and hotels, or incur any other expense or inconvenience. The Online Auditor Expo is another way that Exemplar Global is reaching out to connect more people. We have recently introduced two further initiatives, the Recognised Training Provider program for both current and new training providers and a Group Certification program for auditors engaged as staff or contractors by certification bodies.
