Interested in a career as a food auditor? Want to update your food auditing skills and knowledge? Happen to live in the Sydney, Australia, area?
Sydney TAFE has introduced a fee-free short course in food microbiology.
Commencing April 27, the course will run for one night a week for 10 weeks – finishing up early August.
The course is aligned to nationally accredited units: FDFFST4004A Perform Microbiological Procedures in the Food Industry, MSL973004 Perform Aseptic Techniques, and FDFOHS4002A Maintain OHS Processes.
The food microbiology course offers a combination of integrated theory and practical sessions in a PC2 industry-standard microbiology laboratory at Sydney TAFE’s Ultimo College and is delivered by qualified, industry-experience trainers.
The course is worthwhile attending for:
- Individuals interested in a career as a food auditor
- Those wanting to update or expand their food auditing skills and knowledge in relation to food microbiology
- Individuals applying for the NFSA Level 1-4 who may not have the tertiary education to meet the 40 hour Food Microbiology’ requirement
- Those currently certified in the Management System Auditor Certification Scheme (Competency Based Food Safety Auditors) as the course may assist in their transition into the NFSA Scheme
Upon completion of the course, individuals will be able to apply for credit toward the food auditor qualification – Certificate IV in Food Science and Technology FDF40311.
